“Piglet noticed that even though he had a very small heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude.”

Winnie the Pooh (A.A. Milne)

In the spirit of the season, today I’m listing some of the many things I consider blessings, and for which I’m thankful. I suspect many would be on your list, too.

• Family. All of them, but especially the gifts of a daughter and a son.

• Friends. They bring fulfillment to life.

• Grace.

• Open churches. Remember the supply chain shortage of open churches last Thanksgiving?

• Police, firefighters, and medics. Because they serve, we sleep peacefully.

• Members of the military. These heroes sacrifice for our benefit.

• Our Democratic Republic. Despite its warts and pimples, there’s no better system of government.

• Politicians who walk the walk. Unfortunately, they’re few and far between.

• Redemption. The gift of a second chance.

• An enduring marriage. Soulmates through thick or thin.

• Selfishly, my readers. Especially my email subscribers.

• Dogs. We should all be so forgiving.

• A good cup of coffee. Especially when shared with a friend.

• Baseball.

• Sunrises at the beach and sunsets in the mountains. Who can witness them and still say there is no God?

• Books.

• Grandchildren. Unmitigated joy.

• Small business owners and blue collar workers. America’s backbone.

• Teachers, nurses, and ministers. They’re not in it to get rich, but to enrich lives.

• Fly fishing.

• The fellowship of believers.

• The Constitution. As written.

• To live in the USA. There’s no line of folks at the border waiting to leave.

• Faith. The alternative is pretty bleak.

Happy Thanksgiving, and may God continue to bless you!

God’s grace and mercy is always so much more than sufficient. He being the greatest teacher to all of mankind, is a gift in understanding and having the ability to see the world through- truth, light, and time.

Although, for some, the thoughts of “something I choose” to have or do, is “created/done” by self-identifications; that too, a gift from God. He allows us to, “do as we feel is best” through selfish identifying markers; if we so choose. Thus, leaving he/ she lost in a world, originally created to be one with, The Father of all. Sin, ironically also has the ability shape who we are- after all, Satan, he too was once an angel. A fallen angel, succumbed to the world and separation from Christ. A world that in the eyes of a believer, Jesus teaches to steer away from; for we were born into a world full of iniquity. Yet, His mercy finds us, providing light and growth in our darkest hours. Salvation, sanctifies us- in the likeness of His image, stripping away the cloth of crimson, displaying the gentleness of doves.

His word says, Be Still, and KNOW, I am God (Psalms 46:10). Today, we are to be wise, peaceful, and gentle to ourselves as well as others (Matthews 10:16). The time we share together is no more than a mere moment. The time we share in eternity is the beginning of the God-breathed life, from the oxygen granted to be apart of this earth. Separate, though not separated, it’s by grace His faithfulness dwells within us. His mercy humbles us. And His love keeps us.

For God so loved the world, that He GAVE His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. – John 3:16

Dr. Eichenbrenner, thank you for share your faith for others (including me) to read. We never know who we are inspiring, and who knows… Perhaps, our testimonies stand in the gap be the one source of Truth and Bible, to someone else may never have the chance to see, understand or keep His Word near.
